Playa de las Cucharas is the main beach of Costa Teguise, Lanzarote. We particularly enjoyed this large stretch of golden sand with swimming areas and an ideal setting for water sports.
Here are our practical tips and photos to help you make the most of your visit to Playa de las Cucharas.

This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is Playa de las Cucharas worth it?
Yes, this beach is well worth a visit. We were won over by its location in the heart of Costa Teguise. The beach is quite large and the waters fairly calm, protected by two large dykes. You’ll also find plenty of water sports activities.
Windsurfing enthusiasts will particularly appreciate this spot, which hosts the annual PWA World Windsurfing Tour in June.
This is our favorite beach in Costa Teguise(see our list).

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
Playa de Cucharas is covered in fine golden sand with a hint of black. We appreciated the generous size of this beach, which extends both lengthwise and widthwise, offering plenty of space for everyone.

Swimming conditions and supervision
Swimming conditions are excellent, thanks to a gentle slope that allows gradual entry into the water. The two dikes that protect the beach create a bathing area with particularly calm waters.
We saw the rescuers. Supervision is provided in season, and it’s a popular beach for families.

Installations
The beach offers a wide range of facilities for your comfort. Toilets and showers are available at several exit points.
Sun loungers can also be rented for comfortable sunbathing in season.
Please note, however, that there are no natural shaded areas on the beach.

Dog
We recommend that you check with the municipality regarding dog access, as rules may vary according to the season.
We didn’t see any signs about this.
Reduced mobility access
The beach is located in an urban area with several sloping access points.
The sloping accesses suggest that access is possible, but we have not seen any information or equipment on PRM access.

There are a few rocky areas where the kids seem to have a lot of fun.
