Why visit Costa Teguise’s Playa del Jablillo?
Is the beach worth it?
This beach is well worth a visit in our opinion. We particularly appreciated the white sand, translucent water and opportunity to explore the marine life. Equipped with a mask and snorkel, you can easily go in search of fish. On the breakwater overlooking the beach, we noted the presence of a diving center for the more adventurous among you! What’s more, Playa del Jablillo is very well equipped. There are outdoor showers, toilets, deckchairs and amphibious chairs for wheelchair users.
Why choose this beach?
Playa del Jablillo is an ideal destination for an enjoyable experience with family and friends. This is a tourist beach, with lifeguard surveillance and well-equipped facilities. Here are the 3 main reasons why we think you should consider visiting:
- explore the seabed: whether you decide to bring your own snorkelling gear or consult the dive center, you’re in for a real treat!
- water quality: clear and warm, ideal for swimming and diving. We loved the spectacle of the different shades of blue from the sea wall!

On the sand and in the water…practical advice
Best time to visit
The best time of year to go to Playa del Jablillo in Lanzarote depends on individual preferences. However, the peak tourist season on the Canary Islands is between December and April, but also during the 2 summer months, which means that the beach will be busier at these times. If you prefer to avoid the crowds, we recommend visiting outside these months.
As for the best time of day, it’s best to visit the beach early in the morning or late in the afternoon, to avoid the heat peak and enjoy more peace and quiet. We remind you that Playa del Jablillo is a tourist beach that attracts many people throughout the day.
Beach type and size
The beach floor is mainly made up of fine white sand, but most of it is wet. There are only a few narrow areas of dry sand. In addition, we found numerous black rocks planted in the sand, but also in the water. You’ll need to pay close attention when swimming.
Playa del Jablillo is small in length, but especially in width. Because it’s so busy, it can quickly become difficult to find a seat during peak periods.
Conditions for swimming
This beach offers a gentle slope and completely clear water, but you need to be careful of the many rocks that can prove dangerous. It’s easy to snorkel and see the fish. However, as on all beaches, it is important to remain vigilant and to respect the safety rules at sea.
