Does Costa Teguise have beautiful beaches?
To be honest, Costa Teguise doesn’t have the most beautiful beaches on Lanzarote. But it does offer some very pleasant options, such as Playa de las Cucharas (#1), a large stretch of sand, and Playa Bastian (#2), a smaller, tiered beach.
And if you prefer snorkeling, check out Playa El Ancla (#5).
It has fewer beaches than Puerto del Carmen or Playa Blanca. But the town’s smaller too, so they’re not more crowded.
1. Playa de la Cucharas
Why do we love it?
Playa Cucharas is Costa Teguise’s main beach. Right in the heart of the small seaside resort, it offers a fairly large expanse of fine sand and a gentle slope to enter the water.
Protected by two large dikes, the waters are fairly calm.
This really is the heart of Costa Teguise vacations: you’ll find all the activities and restaurants around. Many water sports are practiced here.
If you visit in June, you’ll be able to attend the PWA World Windsurfing Tour.
Access from Costa Teguise
The beach is right in the center of town.
There’s a large parking lot just a few hundred metres from the northern end of the beach. In season and in the middle of the afternoon, it can still be difficult to find parking.
Practical information
- Golden white sand
- Supervised beach in season
- Toilets and showers at several beach exits
- Sun loungers for hire
- Restaurants in the beach town
- The beach faces south-east, ideal for sunrises (although sunsets can be interesting depending on the time of year).
- Range in length and width
- No grey areas

2. Playa Bastian
Why do we love it?
Another beach we’ve enjoyed in Costa Teguise is Playa Bastian.
It lies to the south of the town and is a little quieter than Playa de La Cucharas.
We like the way it’s laid out on a terrace to shelter from the wind.
You’ll find a mix of sand and rocks, and, of course, always crystal-clear waters.
We love the way it looks, with its palm trees and black stone walls.
Access from Costa Teguise

3. Playa Jablillo
Why do we love it?
The small cove of Playa Jablillo doesn’t offer much sand for landing.
But it’s right in the center, and ideal for those who love snorkeling and discovering the seabed. There are lots of black lava rocks and transparent water, so you can see a lot of fish.
The contrasts on this beach are quite astonishing.
No deckchairs, but ramps for easier access.
Find out more about Playa Jablillo.

4. Playa de los Charcos
Why do we love it?
If you like large sandy areas to enjoy the sun more quietly, this is the right option for you.
This beach has a lot of rocks to get into the water, so it’s much less crowded. It’s not ideal for swimming.
But at low tide, people like to stroll around to see the crabs and seafood.
The bay is protected by 2 dykes, making it ideal for beginner windsurfers.

It’s not a postcard beach.
Access is via a staircase and there is very little sand.
But if you like snorkeling, this is the ideal beach in Costa Teguise. But we do recommend that you wear swimming shoes when entering the water.
Thanks to the rocks and crystal-clear water, you’ll be able to admire many fish.
