Where to stay in Lanzarote: charming towns and hotels
Lanzarote is a very touristy island. So you’ll find plenty of hotels and large resorts.
In the seaside resorts, the hotels have less charm but are close to the beach and offer every comfort. To find more authentic hotels, head inland to the historic capital, Teguise.
To find out more about where to stay in Lanzarote, see this article.
In seaside resorts
Here’s our island-wide selection. But if you already know that you want to stay in one of the two main resorts, you can go straight to our articles:
1. Hotel Lani’s Suites (Puerto del Carmen, 5*)
Why stay there
Luxury to the max. As a small boutique hotel, the team can really offer personalized service to all guests.
The rooms are magnificent, modern and bright. Lots of white!
We also really appreciated the view from the restaurant to the small beach just below the hotel.
This small, charming hotel is right in the heart of the city – you couldn’t be more central!
Swimming pool and beach
- small outdoor pool in the heart of the hotel with sea view
- small beach of sand and rocks just in front of the hotel. As it’s not visible from the street, it’s not crowded.
Practical information
- Neighborhood: downtown Puerto del Carmen
- Price range: 5 stars
- All-inclusive available: no
- Adults-only: yes
- Other amenities: spa area
- Parking: on the street, free but very difficult

2. Hotel CalaLanzarote (Playa Blanca)
Why stay there
This hotel was one of our favorites on Lanzarote(see all our favorite establishments on the island).
One of its greatest assets is its magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean, with the Castillo in the foreground.
We particularly appreciated the large outdoor swimming pool and the cocooning atmosphere: the decor is uncluttered and gives pride of place to the magnificent landscape. We were immediately soothed when we arrived!
Swimming pool and beach
- Magnificent lagoon-style pool with a direct view of the sea and the Castillo
- deckchairs in the water
- You’re not right next to a beach, though. Playa de las Coloradas is the nearest at 8min but doesn’t have much sand. Playa Dorada is a 25-minute walk away.
Practical information
- Neighborhood: Marina de Playa Blanca
- Price range: 5 stars
- All-inclusive available: no, but half-board possible
- Adults-only: yes
- Other amenities: well-equipped gym, spa with thermal pool

OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING A CAR IN Lanzarote
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- A small car is all you need.
- But you can also choose a larger one if you wish, as the parking spaces are rather large.
- Demand is high, so book early.
3. Hotel Royal Marina Suites (Puerto Calero)
Why stay there
This is one of Lanzarote’s finest boutique hotels. It’s very elegant, modern and bright. As soon as you enter the hotel, a wave of relaxation sets in.

The minimalist design is very successful and allows you to concentrate on the essentials: the view and relaxation.

4. Hotel Kamezi Villas (Playa Blanca, 5*)
Why stay there
Another of our favorites.
We loved the elegance and luxury of the Kamezi villas, with their private pool, natural materials and soothing colors.
What’s more, the sea-facing bar is just perfect, and we spent an unforgettable evening in the gourmet restaurant, sampling local produce and revisited Canarian dishes.
The entire team took great care to ensure that we had an excellent stay.
Swimming pool and beach
Villas feature private pools with a small garden. It’s very pleasant.

The building, which dates back to 1690, has been restored and adapted. Elements of traditional Canarian architecture have been preserved.
It’s a real trip back in time, but with all the modern comforts!
We love the interior patio, all the wooden elements, the stone walls…

Why stay there
In a rather different, very modern style, if you’re looking for a place to relax and unwind, we recommend the Aqua Suites hotel. It’s on a human scale, which makes for a much more relaxing experience.
We loved the welcome we received at this hotel, the whole team was smiling. As soon as we entered, we noticed the modern decor and the reasonable noise level.

Small establishment between aparthotel and apartment rental.
We fell in love with the elegant location and its apartments. The decor is superb and warm, and everything is well equipped.
The location is quiet but close to the beach. For the moment, there’s no construction next door, and the view of the volcanoes was also very appealing.

Another luxury boutique hotel in Puerto del Carmen, this time on the port side.
Once again, the service and design are exceptional.

There’s no traditional white here, but lots of metallic surfaces that mirror and reflect the beauty of the island of Lanzarote.

Bonus: Hotel Los Fariones (5*, larger, but full of charm)
This hotel is quite large (216 rooms), but thanks to all its nooks and crannies and charm, it feels like a boutique hotel.
Why stay there
Absolutely magnificent. We loved our stay: the infinity pool, the tropical gardens, the warm, elegant decor, the sea view, the beachfront location (and right next to Playa del Carmen’s main beach), the ever-helpful staff…
This hotel lives up to its reputation. We immediately felt at ease, surrounded by palm trees.
