With its cliffs, golden dunes, lunar landscapes, hidden coves, and sandy beaches, the Spanish archipelago has attracted major hotel chains that compete with one another in elegance and sophistication. From luxury hotels to boutique hotels and resorts overlooking the Atlantic, we’ve selected the best 5-star hotels in the Canary Islands for you.
We were pushed to test them for you to ensure their quality…

This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
The selection of 5-star luxury hotels in the Canary Islands
The 5-star hotel offerings in the Canary Islands are concentrated on the four most popular tourist islands: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. The more rugged islands of La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro focus more on nature-based tourism and boutique accommodations.

For a 5-star stay in the Canary Islands, your choice will depend primarily on which island you choose and the kind of experience you’re looking for: a lively luxury resort or an intimate boutique hotel overlooking the Atlantic. We fell in love with Lanzarote the most, especially with its 5-star boutique hotels.
If you already know which islands you’d like to visit, check out our complete selection:
