Is the village of Punta Mejeres worth a visit?
Yes, the village of Punta Mujeres is well worth a visit.
We fell in love with the coastal village of Punta Mujeres.
It gives the impression of being integrated between land and sea.
Lots of small white houses, a few fishing boats and several natural pools in the lava rocks.
This is one of the most beautiful villages on Lanzarote.
1. The seafront promenade
It’s not long, but very pleasant.
You can walk along the seafront to admire the lava rocks, the contrast with the white houses, the mountains in the background.
We really liked the relaxed atmosphere of the place, the charming little houses and stalls, the old-style lampposts.
And we were also fascinated by the variations of blues in the sea.

2. Punta Mujeres’ natural pools
Along the coast of Punta Mujeres, you’ll discover several natural pools surrounded by lava rocks.
They fill up at high tide and are enjoyed around low tide.
They have been landscaped with staircases for access to small beaches or directly to the water.
There are 4 main ones.
Piscina de Susa, Piscina de Punta Mujeres, Piscina Las Rosas (pictured above), Piscinia Las Nieves.
- Free access
3. The village sign
We’re not sure if it’s still there, but on our last visit, we found the white and blue mini-moulina with the town’s name charming.
It fits in well with the spirit of the village.

4. Fishing boats
We were fascinated by the panoramic views from the waterfront, and especially the variations of blue in the sea.
What’s more, there were plenty of rowing boats and fishing boats punctuating the view when we were there.
It makes the atmosphere of the promenade even more authentic.
5. Small museum on Aloe Vera
At the back of the village, you can also visit one of Lanzarote’s Aloe Vera interpretation centers.
Like the others, it’s a store that has developed a small museum next door.
We find the information very interesting, especially if you don’t know the plant at all.
- Opening hours: Closed on Sundays. Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Access free of charge.
6. Nostra Senora del Pino Church
Punta Mujeres has a tiny white church, with a mini bell tower. It’s quite surprising, so we’ll leave the surprise to you…
