Is the Hotel Iberostar Playa Gaviotas worth it? Our review
In our opinion, staying at this hotel is an excellent option if you’re looking for comfort and a wide range of activities, including sports. Its sea views and proximity to the beach are undeniable assets. We think this establishment offers really good value for money. Finally, we recommend the Star Prestige option, which offers real added value with its sublime reserved pool! In view of its many advantages, we have listed this establishment among the best hotels in the town of Morro Jable.
Decoration and atmosphere
The hotel’s decor is sober and classic, to suit the tastes of as many people as possible. If you appreciate contemporary, characterful decor, you’ll be happiest in one of the boutique hotels we’ve listed in this article. In the common areas serving the rooms, you’ll find beige tiles and walls in orange hues.
In the dining areas, notably the main dining room, the tones are more modern, in shades of white and gray. But what we appreciated most were the outdoor terraces. This is where we felt the beach and vacation atmosphere best, with wooden tables, plants, string lights and comfortable chairs. The atmosphere was even cosier in the evening with the lights dimmed!

The room
Our room was rather spacious, sober and classic with the predominance of white. Most of the furniture, as well as the curves of the headboard, gave it a rustic feel. The rattan armchairs gave our room a vacation atmosphere. We liked the touches of blue on the curtains and armchair cushions. They matched perfectly with the bright hues of the sea, which caught our eye as soon as we entered the room.
On the desk in the room, we found a coffee maker, 2 coffee pods, 2 cups, a reusable water bottle, 2 glasses of water and sugar. We also had beach towels and foutas on the bed, as well as a bathrobe and slippers in the wardrobe. These facilities are reserved for Star Prestige customers.
Our room belonged to the Star Prestige range, available for adults and teenagers aged 15 and over. It featured a large bay window opening onto a balcony equipped with 2 deckchairs and a small table for contemplating the magnificent sea view. We also had a sublime view of the expanse of beach, and the garden below reserved for Star Prestige guests.

The bathroom
Although the decoration of our bathroom was not particularly to our taste, we liked it. It was indeed spacious and functional, with a bathtub, bidet and toilet.
We had already discovered “The Rerum Natura” brand toiletries during our stay at the nearby Iberostar Fuerteventura Palace hotel. We were delighted to find it again here, as we had found these organic shampoos and shower gels to be of the highest quality.
The breakfast
Breakfast is buffet-style, varied and delicious. It is served in the hotel’s Atlantico restaurant between 7:30 and 10:30 am. The room is pleasant, although the tables are close together. As a Star Prestige customer, we were entitled to a reserved area.
You’ll find a wide selection of sweet products, pastries, lots of cut fruit, cereals, cakes and cookies, all of which whet our appetites. There was an extensive range of smoothies and juices. We also appreciated the variety of breads on offer.
Do you prefer a savoury breakfast? The buffet is sure to please, with classic dishes (eggs, crudités, vegetables, cheeses…) as well as local products (cold meats, croquetas, tortillas…), which we recommend you try.
