We like small hotels that have everything you need and are very well located. Such is the case at XQ Palacete, just a stone’s throw from all the old town’s restaurants, with virtually direct access to the beach, a magnificent view, a swimming pool and a restaurant.

Best 5-star hotel: Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace
If you’re looking for a larger resort, with more facilities and the luxury of a 5-star, head for the Fuerteventura Palace. Situated above a quiet stretch of sandy beach, it’s very pleasant. What’s more, we had also chosen a Star-Prestige room to have access to all the facilities and a superb sea view. You’d almost want to stay in the hotel for the whole stay, but Fuerteventura is still worth exploring.

Best hotel with spa: Buganvilla
In a very different style, Hotel Buganvilla is an oasis of relaxation.
Located in the heart of the lighthouse area, you have easy access to the immense Matorral beach. But you can also relax in the pool or the beautiful spa area. And if your feet are tired, the little fish tanks are ready to eat your dead skin.

Best 4-star resort hotel: Iberostar Playa Gaviotas
The Iberostar Playa Gaviotas hotel is also very successful, and right next door to the palace. The decor and materials of the rooms are a little below the Palace, but we really liked the views and the infinity pool area for those who choose Star-Prestige.
Like the Palace, you have direct access to the very quiet sandy beach below.

Best hotel for families: Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park
We found that, on the whole, Morro Jable hotels didn’t make much of an effort for young children. But at Ibersotar Gaviotas Park, you’ll find several pools for all ages, including slides and giant shapes for fun.

Sleep on the Old Town side
At the southern end of Playa del Matorral, you’ll find the historic center of Morro Jable, with its white and colorful houses.
Benefits:
- Close to the beach
- Lively evenings
- Close to many bars and restaurants
- Charm
Disadvantages:
- Parking problems
- Less calm
Sleeping around the lighthouse
Matorral beach is very long. At its center, it is also very wide. This is where you’ll find the lighthouse and protected wetlands.
Benefits:
- Easy access to the widest part of Playa del Matorral beach
- Endless views
- Restaurants and stores
- Easy access to the seafront promenade
- A little more parking
Disadvantages:
- Less charm
- Restaurants are further from the beach
- Parking remains difficult
Sleeping in Las Gaviotas
To the south of Matorral beach, the town and beach come to a halt in a fairly quiet area, made up entirely of tourist accommodation.
Benefits:
- Access to a very quiet beach
- Beautiful views
- Very easy parking around the hotels
Disadvantages:
- Only hotels in the area
Sleeping in Esquinzo
Esquinzo is a village to the north of Morro Jable. It’s mainly a supermarket and hotels and apartments for tourists.
Benefits:
- Very large resorts with lots of activities
- Easy parking
- An easier way to explore the island of Fuerteventura
Disadvantages:
- Access to beaches a little less easy
- Fewer restaurants and activities outside hotels
OUR TIPS FOR RENTING A CAR IN Fuerteventura

- A small car is all you need.
- But you can also choose a larger one if you wish, as the parking spaces are rather large.
- Demand is high, so book early.
1. Hotel XQ Palacete (4 stars, old town)
Why stay there?
The greatest asset of the XQ Palacete hotel in Morro Jable is its privileged location for an unforgettable stay in the Canaries. Located close to the old town, you can easily explore the city’s charms and try out its restaurants. What’s more, the hotel is located right above the beach, allowing you to enjoy moments of relaxation and admire the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
We enjoyed our spacious room with balcony and sea view. We found it the ideal place to enjoy the sunrise over the sea or to be lulled by the soothing sound of the waves.
We appreciated the smaller size of the hotel for more personalized service, especially the restaurant services on the terrace above the sand and sea.

2. Hotel Buganvilla & Spa (4 stars, lighthouse)
Why stay there?
We enjoyed discovering the Buganvilla hotel in Morro Jable, with its privileged location close to the magnificent Matorral beach. It’s the ideal place for sea and sun lovers, allowing you to take full advantage of seaside pleasures while still being close to the region’s other attractions.
What makes this hotel even more special is its slightly more intimate size, creating a warm, friendly atmosphere. Our spacious room was a haven of peace, offering all the comforts needed for a pleasant stay.
You can relax in total tranquillity with its excellent spa. We particularly enjoyed the fish tanks that took care of our feet, a refreshing experience.

Why stay there?
For a 5-star level of service, the Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace hotel is one of two options in Morro Jable. We really appreciated its privileged location above a beautiful, quiet sandy beach. It’s easy to relax by the sea and take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters.
The hotel’s large swimming pools are a real asset, offering areas ideal for relaxation and leisure. For those opting for the Star-Prestige level, the exclusive additional pool adds a touch of luxury and intimacy to the experience, given that the hotel is very large indeed.
Our spacious room was a haven of comfort and tranquility. We appreciated the generous space that allowed us to relax in full view of the sea.

Why stay there?
We love the value for money of the Iberostar Playa Gaviotas hotel in Morro Jable. We were made very welcome at this 4-star hotel and enjoyed all the facilities.
To begin with, the hotel is located right above a beautiful sandy beach. You can easily enjoy the pleasures of the seaside and panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. It also offers a variety of sports facilities, such as tennis and archery, giving guests plenty of options for staying active and having fun during their stay.
The hotel’s large swimming pools are a real asset for relaxing and soaking up the sun. For travelers who, like us, opt for the Star-Prestige level, the exclusive additional pool offers an intimate, luxurious setting with its overflow over the beach and sea.
Our spacious room offered all the comforts needed for a pleasant stay. It was a welcoming space where we could fully relax after a busy day.

The Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park hotel in Morro Jable is an excellent option for families with young children. With facilities specially designed for the little ones, the youngest members of the family are sure to have a fun-filled stay. The pool is a real attraction, with its fun slides guaranteeing hours of aquatic fun. The little ones can enjoy themselves in complete safety under the watchful eye of the hotel staff.
But that’s not all! The resort also offers a variety of activities for children, kids’ clubs for different age groups, and entertainment and shows specially designed for families. Here, everything is designed so that every member of the family can have fun and enjoy a memorable vacation.

Why stay there?
The Mur Faro Jandia hotel in Morro Jable offers a dream location right in front of the iconic lighthouse, providing easy access to the immense beach just a few steps away. It’s a real treat for lovers of the sea and fine sand, allowing you to enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean at any time of day.
We particularly appreciated the exemplary friendliness of the hotel staff, who offered warm, attentive service. And we found the rooms spacious, which added to the comfort of our stay. The best part is the unobstructed view of the sea and surrounding wetlands, which is simply spectacular.
Breakfast is a real treat for the taste buds, offering a variety of delicious, fresh dishes to get the day off to a good start.

If you’re looking for a self-catering aparthotel option and don’t want to go out to eat every day, the Altavista is a great option.
Located in the heart of the old town, it’s a stone’s throw from the beach, stores and restaurants.
It offers 15 apartments and a penthouse.
From its rooftop terrace, you can enjoy magnificent sea views.

Why stay there?
This hotel is a little more secluded than the others, on higher ground with beautiful sea views.
We liked the colorful architecture with palm trees and the shaded areas that didn’t use umbrellas.
The large Matorral beach (at las Gaviotas) is just a 20-minute walk away.

Why stay there?
In Esquinzo, you’ll find some great resort hotels.
Our favorite is the Fuerteventura Princess because we particularly loved the pool levels and their lagoon effect.
It’s a very large complex but it’s been very well laid out so as not to have a mass effect.

- Access to Butihondo-Esquinzo beach with sun loungers and sand.

Why stay there?
If you’re looking for something much smaller with charm, we recommend the Cassablanca Suites. With its white walls and numerous plants, this is a place of great charm.
The small hotel overlooks the old town of Morro Jable, offering moments of relaxation from your terrace.
However, if you have difficulty getting around, this isn’t the right option, as it’s high up in the city and there are stairs.

Why stay there?
We really appreciated the ideal location of the Lemon & Soul hotel in Morro Jable. It’s just a few steps from the picturesque beach and iconic lighthouse. It’s the perfect place for lovers of the sea and beautiful coastal scenery.
The hotel staff were very friendly, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Their warm, attentive service adds a touch of conviviality to the experience. The hotel’s relaxed and casual atmosphere was a pleasure, creating a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere.
The rooftop solarium is a real hotel highlight, offering a peaceful space to relax and soak up the sun while admiring panoramic views of the sea and surrounding area.
