2. Puertito de los Molinos

Why we love it
It’s not so much a village as a hamlet, one of our favorite spots on Fuerteventura. Here you’ll find a magnificent sandy bay, rock formations, caves, natural pools and a few white houses with colored stripes.
The place is very peaceful and fun to explore

Why we love it
The village of Ajuy has lost some of its authenticity as it has become a tourist attraction thanks to the caves. But you’ll still find the colorful cubic houses contrasting with the black sand of the beach!
And combining a charming village with geological formations is always a good idea, in our opinion!

7. Puerto del Rosario

Why we love it
Fuerteventura’s capital is a long way from the island’s tourist centers, but is well worth a visit for a change from the beaches!
It’s an open-air museum, the city of 150 sculptures. These works of art are in completely different styles. Some are highly representative of reality, while others are more abstract or fairytale-like.

Why we love it
Lajita is famous for its Oasis Park (zoo and botanical garden). But we really liked the village, which few people go to see. The church is charming and the atmosphere relaxing.

Why we love it
Giniginamar is particularly popular with those looking for a little peace and quiet on this very touristy island: a beautiful black beach, a charming village and very few buildings!

Why we love it
At the heart of the island, Tuineje is worth a quick visit, with its main square and charming church, which is as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside. The wooden ceiling is typical of the Canary Islands.
You’ll also see several sculptures, as in many Canary towns. Our favorite is the camel next to the church.
