Looking for an urban beach in the heart of Corralejo, Fuerteventura? Playa de Corralejo Viejo offers a unique setting with its azure-blue waters flowing between black rocks. We fell in love with this beach. Its charm lies in its natural configuration, which creates a shallow pool ideal for cooling off while admiring theIsle of Lobos and its volcano in the background.
In this article, you’ll find our photos and tipson how to make the most of your time on the water.

This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is the Playa de Corralejo Viejo worth it?
Yes, this beach is well worth a visit, especially at high tide. It is one of the most beautiful on Fuerteventura. Although it’s not the most popular beach in the center of Corralejo, we were seduced by its quiet charm and its views over the Isle of Lobos. Its azure-blue waters meander between rocky outcrops, which are largely uncovered at low tide. The shallow waters make it an ideal place to stroll and cool off, but we strongly recommend high tide for swimming.

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is covered with fine, blond and slightly golden sand. We particularly appreciated its quality, even if the sandy area remains relatively limited at high tide. The beach is also distinguished by its rocky areas, which should be kept in mind. For added comfort, we recommend that you wear swimming shoes to avoid injuring yourself on the rocks, although this is not essential if you stay in the sandy areas.

- Boat to Lobos Island

- But also; surfing lessons, 4WD tour in Cofete, windsurfing, scuba diving…

Swimming conditions and supervision
The beach is not supervised, so please be vigilant. The water is shallow, making swimming difficult at low tide. At high tide, however, the gentle slope makes it easy to enter the water. Playa de Corralejo Viejo is also perfect for snorkeling along the rocks, where you can admire the marine life in pleasant conditions.

Installations
We did not observe any special facilities during our low-season visit. The beach retains its natural character with no special facilities.

Special features
Dog
We didn’t see any signs indicating whether or not dogs were allowed on this beach.

Reduced mobility access
There are no special facilities to facilitate access to the beach for people with reduced mobility. In addition, the presence of the rocky area makes access more difficult for people with mobility difficulties.
With children
It’s a beautiful beach with clear azure waters and shallow waters. We appreciated the gradual slope to enter the water, which is ideal for children. The beach is ideal for building sandcastles. However, we remind you that there is no surveillance, so it’s important to remain vigilant.

Naturism
We didn’t see any signs indicating whether naturism was allowed or not. Given that this is a city beach, it’s likely that this practice is not permitted.

Eating out
You’ll find plenty of beachside restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity. We particularly recommend the Restaurant L’Oca Blanca, just a 3-minute walk away, which is one of our selection of the best restaurants in Corralejo.

Hotels
We recommend Hôtel Boutique La Marquesina, just a 7-minute walk from the beach. We particularly appreciated its rooftop with pool, bar and panoramic swing. This is one of the best hotels in Corralejo.
